“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;
break forth into joyful song and sing praises!”
As shown throughout the Bible, music is a gift from God. Excellent music is an important part of the life of Central Presbyterian Church. Here at Central, our goal is not just to offer mere “performances of music” but to join together to offer up our gifts back to God through worship and music.
There are a number of groups that offer volunteer musicians an opportunity to participate in this important ministry. Anyone and everyone is invited and encouraged to share your musical gifts. All that is required is a love of music and a willingness to serve the Lord with your gifts. Music is the voice of the soul. It is our desire to provide an opportunity for everyone, regardless of age or ability, to use their musical gifts and talents to the glory of God.
The choirs at Central provide worship leadership for the Sunday morning worship services, as well as enhancing special services and events throughout the year.
We also have a lot of fun! All the choirs enjoy time of Christian fellowship, in addition to learning and developing musical gifts. The combination of love for music and for sharing it with each other helps us to make worship even more meaningful for all. The common saying “He who sings, prays twice” always leads me to rephrase it when thinking of our choir ~ “Those who sing together, pray and play together”.
Whether you are an experienced musician or a novice we invite you to join us as we make a joyful noise unto the Lord. We have choirs for children, youth, and adults as well as a full handbell choir.
