The Bridge at Central is our way to connect our church families together with classes, dinner, and fellowship, BRIDGING the gap between Sundays. Our kids programs happen just a bit earlier in the day from our adult programs to help get them home earlier to help finish homework, and get ready for bed! Wednesday Afternoons are a great way to grow your child’s faith formation from Sunday and to help build fellowship with other children at Central!

We hope you will join us and get involved because these children are truly amazing to work with!

Enrollment for 2017-18 will begin July 27th and registrations are due August 15th. Register Here

K2

Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Graders
Wednesdays 3:45-4:45pm

K2 is our after school class for children in Kindergarten – 2nd Grade to journey through the salvation story. We follow the Whirl curriculum that highlights 80 key Bible stories from both the Old and New Testament. The Scripture-based lessons with engaging animations, help kids relate the Bible to their lives.

Acolytes

photo

3rd, 4th, and 5th Graders
Wednesdays 4:30-5:30pm

Acolytes begin serving the church by lighting and extinguishing the candles in the Sanctuary for the worship service. The light, or flame represents the light of Christ. When you bring the light into the place where people are gathering to worship, and when you light the candles, you are reminding the people that God is with us in Worship! At the end of each worship service, the acolytes take the light of Christ out into the world!

The children also follow a 3 year scope and sequence exploring different things about their faith as Presbyterians and what we believe in as Christians.

Children’s Choirs:

PreK – 5th Graders
Wednesdays * time varies by grade (see below)
The Gloria Choir is for children ages 3 and 4. (must be 3 by Sept 1, 2017) This choir focuses on introducing the joy of music to our youngest members as they learn the basics of music. This choir participates in worship several times throughout the year.
Alleluia Choir (K- 2nd) – 4:45 – 5:30pm
The Alleluia Choir is for children in Kindergarten through the 2nd learning more advanced concepts of music, including the basics of rhythm and music reading. In addition the children begin to prepare for what it means to lead worship. This choir participates in worship several times throughout the year.
Jubilee Choir (3rd-5th) – 3:45 – 4:30pm
The Jubilee Choir is for children in the 3rd – 5th grades
This choir builds on foundations learned in the Gloria and Alleluia Choirs as the children focus on music reading skills and singing unison and two-part music. This choir also learns to provide worship leadership for several worship services throughout the year.
