**Michael and Irene Sivalee have served as missionaries in Brazil since 1982.  They will be have a brief presentation about Brazil and their work there.

Michael was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand and Irene in Rio Verde, Goias, Brazil. Both went to Warren Wilson College and graduated with a BA in Elementary Education. They taught in elementary schools in NC and OH.They were married in 1972.

Michael graduated from Louisville Presbyterian Seminary in 1980 and was a pastor at Seaman-Cherry Fork PC in Cincinnati Presbytery. He also graduated from Pittsburgh Presbyterian Seminary with a D Min in the area of Mission and Family in 1994. Irene did several courses in Christian Education at the Reformed Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA.

In 1982, they were appointed by PCUS Mission Board to Brazil as Presbyterian Mission Co-Workers in partnership with The Independent Presbyterian Church Of Brazil. They served  as pastor-evangelist in new church development in pioneer fields (1982-1993), Director and professors at The Lay Missionary Training Center (1993-2003), Dean and Professors at the Seminary in Brasilia( 2004-2009).

Their most recent ministry from 20909 to 2013 was in new church development at the city of Samambaia near Brasilia, Capital City of Brazil. The Independent Presbyterian Church in Samambaia was organized and chartered on February 5, 2012. It has 50 baptized adult members and 10 baptized children. Today, the church has a full time pastor, Rev. Solange Mello, who was their former student from the Lay Missionary Training Center and also the Seminary in Brasilia.
